2015

Another year is almost over ! To be honest, it was quite good year. So many things changed in my life, and many things made me happy even tho they stayed just the way they are. These were the major things of 2015 for me.

Coming back to cosplay

Last year , I’ve only made three costumes and haven’t visited many events. I felt like going back, like thousand times but I couldn’t do it back in 2014. But I was back in the game in 2015, made more than 20 costumes for different reasons/occasions/events etc. I’m trying to make at least one big costume every year, and my big costume was Zelda this year, It was challenging for many reasons, and I’ve already started working on next year’s big one <3

Mid Year Resolutions

Jpeg

I don’t know why people keep believing  in new year resolutions even though they don’t actually work to make them come true. Well, I wouldn’t do it too, just because the year is changing.. But I do believe in resolutions, at least now.

In mid-summer 2015 I felt like some things had to change in my life. And they did change after all.. I made myself a princess room, changed my hair, rewamped my wardrobe, started wearing make-up daily etc. In the end I felt a lot better <3

New Hair Colours

IMG_20150923_181654

I used to dye my hair a lot back in days but I forgot how fun it is. many people ask me why I don’t go to the hair saloons, it’s mainly because hair dying is my zen time. But it’s hard to explain, instead I just say I’m broke.

I believe every woman  should be blonde once in their lifetime.  I was like “why not now??” it was a slow progress since I didn’t want to damage my hair much but in the end I had lovely blonde hair. I also had a chance to try new hair colours like purple, taro purple and pink, which I’ve never tried before.

New countries

I’ve started visiting places abroad last year with trips to Seoul and London. This year I got into the “what the hell, I’ll visit as a tourist” mood.

Had a chance to visit Italy with Tırrıvırrı in April. It was an amazing trip over all, since I’ve realised that I actually admire art very, very much.

Went to Northern Cyrpus for summer holiday and end up with amazing cosplay photos – Thanks to Emaic- and it was quite relaxing.

In late October, early November we’ve visited Paris and Berlin with Leda, it was a busy trip, we’ve visited so many places in both cities and had chance to see WORLDS 2015 finals.

I’ll be visiting Oslo, Norway in couple of days and greet the new yeart there!  So, as the end of 2015, my country count will be 7!

Got a dog

This might be the most amazing thing ever happened this year. Not gonna lie, sometimes it’s really really hard. But most of the time, we know that we have the best companion <3 AAARRRGGGHHHH COOKIE!

Started streaming

P_20151225_213648

I had it in my mind for a long time but my internet connection didn’t let me do it :(

As the years passed I’ve realised that I’m becoming more and more introvert and shy. When someone says hi at a convention, I’m trying my best to keep up with conversation, but I get anxious and I heard that people think that I’m arrogant because of this. :(  Even tho “what others think doesn’t matter” is a thing, I don’t want people to prejudice and hate me for something this stupid.. So, I’ve decided that I’ll do my best to more social.

I get even more anxious with technology. Writing is totally fine, but even skyping with camera kills me. So, I’ve challenged myself and started streaming. Hope it will help me with these issues in time.

Got a smart phone

I’ve resisted so long, but it was futile. I had  my very first real smart phone at April and it got stolen in October. Dammit, they don’t last long!

There are many other things happened this year, but these are the ones I could remember. I hope you had an amazing year as well <3

Cookie’s second month!

DOGE

Our beloved doge, Cookiebabe has just ended her second month with us! YAAAY!

To be honest, it wasn’t really easy.  I was pretty sure that we were going to be a part of those people who got a dog, couldn’t take take of it and had to let to. I was super anxious while Tirrivirri was super relaxed about the whole thing. In time I got relaxed and realised we can actually handled this. Cookie got used to us as well.

So everything is perfect now. I sometimes even forget that we have a dog, then Cookie wakes up and asks for attention.

IMG_20151127_100740 IMG_20151123_223926

Don’t get me wrong. Even though it’s good, it doesn’t mean it’s easy. Having a dog requires tons and tons of work, whole new life style with tons of planning and obviously poop collecting.

We’ve been through ear infections, “not liking food” situations, finding liquid and solid surprises at home, forgetting food around, fights, bites, barks, cries, long walks, baths, misbehaving, new dog friends, new places etc. It has ups and downs but it eventually feels like it’s worth it when you see your dog sleeping happily.

Because La Cucaracha H. Monster (a.k.a. Cookie) is the most stupid thing alive and we love her <3  U●ᴥ●U

Cookie’s first day!

This post is only and only about our dog’s very first day at home. If you don’t like dogs, (well, you are a terrible person) just skip it and go back to your sad life :(

We wanted to have a dog since.. forever? But for the past 1,5 years we’re actively planning to have a dog. My roomie, tirrivirri has spent the half of the past year at Italy, so we postponed our dreams until her return.

Some things were certain. We didn’t want to pay for a dog (I mean, how could you BUY animals??) we didn’t want a big dog since we don’t own a house with garden andit would be cruel for the dog.

After we stated to follow pages and websites do adopt a dog, we realised that it won’t be easy. Most of the people who want to give their dogs act like “we can only let families adopt him/her” “We’re only giving our baby to the people who are 25 years old or older” “She can’t be alone at home, no matter what” etc. It was kinda hard.  After cople of months, we’ve decided to try our chance at a shelter. We knew it would be heartbreaking since these places are full of unhealty, old or disabled dogs and we simply can’t take care of them.

We decided to visit  Yedikule shelter (Municipality of Fatih – Yedikule Shelter and Rehabilitation Center for Stray Animals is the full name) after we’ve seen a beagle in their website When we visited, she was long gone but it was sure that we were going to adopt out dog from there.

I don’t know much about the animal shelters in other countries but in Turkey, they take care of dogs and cats in need and help families adopt them. Yedikule is just like that. They work voluntarily and when people visit, they bring dog and cat foods, biscuits, medicine etc. to help them.

Anyways, there were really cute dogs there, we’ve seen about 100-200 of them (whole shelter has 3000+ dogs in their facility) We applied to adopt, they’ve given us a certain time to meet. Since tirrivirri was busy I went there alone this time. I was kinda nervous because I’ve read that Mrs. Meral Olcay (the voluntary manager ) is strict about people who want to adopt. And you know, we’re not a familt, just two people living together, and I had peuple hair etc.. But she helped a lot, and told me that the dog that we wanted couldn’t be alone in the house due to his aggresive manners, but they had a cocker we didn’t see before. I went to the place she lived with volunteers (15+ dogs attacked me to play in a very small room, it was a little bit scary at first. Also, goodbye my fav pants :( ) when they were all over me to play this cocker was at the other side of the room, clapping her paws. I knew she was the one.

Jpeg

Getting her was a little bit harder. Waited for tirrivirri for couple of hours, it was just after their closing time when she arrived, and people at the shelter were like “but you’ve decided right, just want to see again?” they brought the dog and OH MY GOD! she was so adorable !! She had her shots, we bought her  some stuff ( you can buy them from the shelter to help them) And some hours after we were ready to go. She was nervoud on the way home. There was so much traffic. She slept and try to play and slept again but she was calmer when we got home.

Jpeg

On the way home

We’ve given her some medicine, cooked her dinner (we were too lazy to cook for ourselves, but not for her!) After that we went outside (we didn’t even know that she was toilet training, AND SHE WAS!!) she just ran everywhere, smelled everything. After spending so much time in a little room at shelter, she was super energetic.

Jpeg

“did I sniff there or not?”

After we got home she was sleepy we let her sleep on her pillow (we even gave her a blanket, because.. reasons??) Sure she got up at 4:00 am and went crazy but somehow we went back to sleep. I had to get up at 8, and we got out (she had to pee) and we walked through the streets about an hour.

Jpeg

We didn’t want her to get wet after her shot. Turns out human t-shirts do not fit dogs at all :(

Jpeg

A complete bookcase includes books, PC, TV, printer, DVDs, toys and a sleeping doge.

Anyways, it was her first day at home.  In the morning we had a short walk but I had to go to work, Tirrivirri stayed with her until her class and I came home just a little early. She’s spent an hour alone at home and everything were in place. Cool!

Jpeg

Going out, gotta go crazy.

Right now, she’s sleeping next to me with her stupid violet blanket (actually leftover fabric from my Meg cosplay but she doesn’t have to know that ) and I can simply say that this is just like what i imagined.

Jpeg

Sleepy babe

If you’re planning to have a dog, just go to a shelter and adopt. You’re going to see that it’s the right desicion. And if you can’t , please hlep them, take them food or work at these places voluntarily. I want to thank Meral Olcay and  Yedikule Shelter and Rehabilitation Center for Stray Animals again and again for making our dreams come true and giving her to us.

She’s the most beautiful cocker, about two years old, spayed, has light coat and big beautiful black eyes. Her name used to be Yağmur (meaning Rain in Turkish, and it was raining  A LOT when we had her) but we’ve decided to change her name to Cookie, because she’s cookie colored and sweet :3

This was Cookie’s story. I’ll post more and more about her later <3
